The ARIES Framework acts as a bridge toward an international standard.
Those just starting can move to level one by completing, signing, and uploading the Declaration of Commitment (download from Templates). This will usually take less than an hour and should be signed by the owner of the company. ARIES will confirm by email and you will then appear on the repairer listing.
Level two will take more time as you need to complete your Carbon Reduction Management Plan and Declaration of Achievement (download from Templates). First go to 'Standard' on the menu bar and download the 'Discussion Paper' as this provides an example of how the Carbon Reduction Management Plan and Declaration of Achievement should be completed. You can also request help from a subject matter expert by choosing from our 'Supplier Listing'.
Level three requires you to complete the Carbon Reduction Management Plan and Declaration of Achievement with evidence of investment related to energy and carbon reduction. You can jump from level one to level three if you able to do this when first completing the CRMP and DOA. Some understanding and planning of Scope 3 categories is also required, but note that level one, two, and three only measure Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect) emissions.
In addition to above, level four requires evidence of some of the Scope 3 categories, which will prepare you for the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) Standard, or other international standard. Repairers that already have PAS 2060 will still need to complete the DOC, CRMP, and DOA in ARIES format, but can then move straight to level four.
ARIES does not require you to offset residual carbon, requiring instead to invest this money in further energy and carbon reduction initiatives until all possible reduction is unviable. In all cases, the CRMP and DOA must be uploaded before an auditor is appointed.
